“When you open up a gravesite, the bodies, how they are organised, they inform the stories by themselves… they can explain to us about how they disappeared, how they had been killed,” claims forensic anthropologist Meri Gonashvili.
Gonashvili is a female on a mission. Through detective-like operate, the younger Georgian anthropologist at Tbilisi Point out Health-related University is hoping to determine victims executed by the Soviet mystery police for the duration of the Reign of Terror, also known as the Terrific Purge of 1936-1938.
